Abbey Mills

I’m responsible for….

Working with the Leadership team to ensure we’re making progress towards our agency vision. Gathering client insight to ensure the services we offer add real value and that the experience of working with us is a great one! The personal and professional development of the Client Services team, as well as supporting our Business Directors and Account Directors in their delivery and skill development.

I work closely with…

The Leadership team, who I’ve been lucky enough to work with for the majority of my 8 years at Born Social, the Heads Of team, a new team who bring brilliant perspective and experience to the agency, the Client Services team (obviously), as well as our excellent Business Directors, Account Directors and Social Media Managers who share my love for a good chat.

The best part of my role is…

Getting to know our clients and the businesses they’re driving forward. We partner with brilliant people across a host of industries, doing really interesting things. Seeing the team help these brands change the way social media is utilised and solve genuine business problems is really rewarding.

My *condensed* career story so far…

Perhaps the most condensed of them all, apart from a brief stint in an NHS call centre, my career story is Born Social. Joining after finishing university, I’ve worked as an Account Manager, Senior Account Manager and Client Services Director, recently moving into my current role which is Executive Client Services Director & Partner.

My dream brand to work with is...

MADE.COM are doing some really brilliant things in the homeware space and I’d love the opportunity to apply our social-first brand thinking to their social strategy.

The proudest moment for me at Born is...

Being a part of our leadership team and taking over as owners of the business. I have always felt a huge sense of ownership and pride in the business we've built, but going through this at the end of 2020 was a moment that made me sit back and take stock of everything we've achieved. Not only was this personally really exciting but to do it with a group of people I have unbelievable respect and admiration for, and genuinely love working with, made it all the more poignant.

The most memorable moment at Born is...

Back in 2018 a few of us were on a trip when we found out that we had won work with both Kopparberg and Nando’s. It was so exciting, two dream brands giving us the opportunity to work with them - I was just unbelievably proud of the agency and the team. Looking back over the last few years of working with them both it’s amazing to see how they’ve developed and the impact the work is having.

My guilty pleasure on social…

Not guilty but maybe an unexpected one... In the last year I’ve really loved using LinkedIn more frequently. People are creating and sharing really interesting thought leadership. I often have a quick scroll inbetween meetings and come across something that really intrigues me and makes me think. As a result I feel much less guilty for the scrolling!

Right now, I’m binging…

Very late in the game and a real cliche but I’ve just started Sex in the City after a podcast binge of Sentimental Garbage - Highly recommed the latter if you’re a fan.

Describe working at Born in three words…

Energetic. Thoughtful. Collaborative.
